General Attributes
The spoliator colubri (snake despoiler, snake killer) is found in some medieval encyclopedias. It is a gold and green worm (insect). When it sees a snake it climbs onto its tail, then runs up to its head. After rubbing the head to soften it, the spoliator bites until it reaches the brain, and there it feeds.
The spoliator colubri may be the same as the opimacus, another worm that is said to attack snakes.
Reality
The spoliator colubri may be the Carabus auratus, a gold and green beetle that attacks worms in a similar way.
